The Family Institute's graduate and continuing education programs are jointly administered by The Graduate School of Northwestern University. It is a unique partnership that ensures the highest standards of excellence in both theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice.

About our partnership

We are a not-for-profit organization, independently funded and integrally linked to Northwestern University. We direct the University's Center for Applied Psychological and Family Studies in cooperation with The Graduate School of Northwestern University and Office of Research.

This means you'll enjoy the full benefits of a Northwestern University graduate education, with degrees conferred by The Graduate School.

A comprehensive approach

Specialized coursework combined with rigorous clinical training prepares you to be a theoretically sophisticated mental health practitioner. Both programs devote extensive programmatic resources, offer interaction with highly accomplished faculty, include intensive clinical supervision and give access to state-of-the art facilities.
