Applied Research Opportunities

While the Counseling master's program has a strong clinical emphasis, our training also facilitates students' development into informed consumers of clinical research and its application to client care. Although not a requirement of our program, research training opportunities abound at The Family Institute and throughout Northwestern University, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Research may take many forms, including volunteer work in a faculty member's lab, conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications or development of your own independent project. Students with interest in advancing to doctoral study after graduation are particularly encouraged to engage research opportunities during their time in our program.

How to Apply to Participate in Research

Once you identify a project and a researcher you are interested in joining, contact Jessica Pryor, Ph.D. via email at jpryor@family-institute.org.
