Obesity, Weight Loss & Eating Disorders
This project may be focused on exploring the experiences and perspectives of Men, African American families or other unique/marginalized populations related to obesity, weight loss, eating disorders and health disparities. There may be one or more papers that emerge where researchers examine experiences of obesity, significant weight loss, bariatric surgery, food addictions, barriers to treatment, parenting, couple and family dynamics and behavioral health intervention. This may include engaging in a follow-up to a previously published paper. This project is qualitative in nature but may include some quantitative and/or mixed methods approaches.

We may explore such topics as sense of belonging, racism, trauma, microaggression, stress, health, mental health, parenting and couple/family dynamics. This project is qualitative in nature but may include some quantitative and/or mixed methods approaches.
Fatherhood, Fatherlessness & Men’s Mental Health
This project will be focused on exploring the topic of fatherhood and/or fatherlessness. We may explore various aspects related to the experiences, attitudes and perceptions of fathers, but may also include the voices of partners and/or adult children. There may be one or more papers that emerge where researchers examine experiences related to planning for children, experiences during pregnancy and after birth, attachment, child development, father involvement, co-parenting, relationships between fathers and adult children, absent fathers, couple and marital relationships, as well as men’s mental health and relationships in general. This may include engaging in a follow-up to a previously published paper. This project is qualitative in nature but may include some quantitative and/or mixed methods approaches.
