This World Mental Health Day, we want to remind you that you are not alone. According to the 2023 State of Mental Health in America Report, in the United States alone, twenty-one percent of adults are grappling with their mental health. Mental health struggles affect millions of individuals and families worldwide, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you or someone you know is dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or any other mental health concern, The Family Institute at Northwestern University is here to offer support.
With the theme for this year's World Mental Health Day being "mental health is a universal human right," we are reminded of the importance mental health care access that is free from stigma and discrimination. The Family Institute at Northwestern University is committed to providing equitable mental health care and resources for our community and beyond. In honor of World Mental Health Day, we are sharing an array of psychoeducational resources and events designed to help individuals, couples and families in their mental health journey.

Circle of Knowledge: Inner Healing Through Grief and Loss
Dealing with the complexities that arise in the aftermath of grief and loss can feel all-encompassing. Join Emily Klear, LMFT, Brenna Moore, Psy.D. and Melissa Prusko, Psy.D. as they discuss the impact that the grieving process can have on mental health, offer coping mechanisms to navigate finding inner solace through loss, and recommend ways to support loved ones who are on their healing journey.
