We are seeking couples for a research study at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. We are interested in studying how unemployment impacts romantic relationships and people’s individual well-being.
Couples will be asked to complete 3 sets of online surveys over the course of 3 months. Questions are related to individual well-being, relationship satisfaction and quality, employment, economic status, and protective factors against stress. A subset of couples will be invited to participate in an additional assessment interview at the end of the study.
Each participant will be paid $10 for each time they complete study questionnaires, for a potential total of $30 per participant and $60 per couple. Couples who participate in the additional interview will receive an additional $30 per couple.
This is a great opportunity to help researchers understand how to best support couples during times of economic stress!
To be eligible for this study, you must be 18 years of age or older, fluent in reading and speaking English, in a committed romantic relationship for a period of at least 3 years and living with your partner. Additionally, you and/or your partner must have been unemployed for at least three months and seeking re-employment.
If you are interested in participating, please email TFIUnemploymentStudy@gmail.com with the following information:
