About

Markeeta Parker, Ph.D., ALMFT (she/her) is a postdoctoral clinical scholar fellow at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She is a dedicated couple and family therapist who supports the client in discovering a healthy perception about themselves so they can know themselves as peaceful, purposeful, and whole. Dr. Parker provides a safe, authentic, non-judgmental atmosphere for her clients to express, reflect, and experience a renewed mental, emotional, and spiritual, wellness. She has an array of clinical experiences working with individuals, couples, and families in medical and mental health centers and private practice, challenged by a range of presenting issues including but not limited to communication issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, attachment trauma, relationship conflict, divorce, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, and behavioral related issues. Clinically, Dr. Parker uses a narrative therapeutic approach, a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the re-authoring of personal narratives and stories in a more balanced, non-blaming,  productive and compassionate way.

Other Professional Involvement/Leadership Positions

Doctor Parker has spent several years working in both domestic and international settings as a clinical social worker in the capacities of community outreach, mentoring, and volunteering, to help reduce inequalities and help meet goals in underserved populations and communities.
