Paichence Carter, LPC (she/her) takes a trauma informed approach to treatment, being mindful of an individual's past experiences, as well as their social, psychological, and physical needs. She strives to create a safe, honest, and non-judgmental space where clients can learn what they need and unlearn what's no longer working for them.
Ms. Carter has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, residential, PHP/IOP and private practice, treating a wide range of symptoms related to eating disorders/disordered eating, traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence/executive functioning difficulties. She practices within a HAES, anti-diet framework, and aims to promote inclusivity and accessibility, especially within black and brown communities.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Ms. Carter competed in division one collegiate athletics, and coached high school track and field. She originates from Columbus, Ohio, and since relocating to the Chicago land area, has volunteered/led non-profit work with the mission to improve the mental well-being of youth impacted by homelessness and the foster care system.
