Dr. Rampage is an engaged, active therapist with more than three decades of experience treating individuals, couples and families. Her approach integrates techniques from multiple schools of therapy — psychodynamic, narrative, emotionally focused and behavioral — and is informed by her work with more than two thousand clients; her experience teaching more than a dozen different courses in psychology and marriage and family therapy; and her time spent supervising hundreds of therapists in training.
Dr. Rampage is the former executive vice president of The Family Institute and the founding director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Northwestern University. She is also a former board member of the American Family Therapy Academy.
Dr. Rampage has published more than a dozen refereed journal articles and book chapters on various issues pertaining to couples and families relating to gender, adoption and couple therapy, in particular.
