Remington “Remi” Mitchell, M.A., LCPC (they/them) is a licensed clinical professional counselor, a graduate of Roosevelt University’s Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practice) program, and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. They specialize in working with various age ranges, from children to adolescents and adults. They are passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and clients grappling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, and self-esteem.
Remington has experience working in various settings, including community mental health, partial hospitalization programs, private practice, and crisis assessments in the emergency department. They utilize an integrative and humanistic approach in working with clients to help them gain deeper insight into themselves and their relationships, and to live more authentically in the present. They also collaborate with parents, strengthening relationships and communication with their children. Remington pulls from Psychodynamic theory, Client-Centered, Trauma-informed, Gender-Affirming, and Strength-Based informed approaches. When they are not in the office, they are engaged in social justice work to create a better world for the next generation.
Volunteer with Treatment Not Trauma campaign, an initiative that allows mental health professionals to respond to individual crisis calls without police presence.
